Back to School

Back to school and back to the early morning rush! Eek! The best part of the first day of school (besides meeting my students of course) is the first day outfit. I picked up these cute printed pants from J. Crew Factory over the weekend. The cropped length and pattern really caught my eye. A perfect choice for the first day. Of course I had to add a little pizzazz to my ensemble and this statement necklace fit the bill. The colors paired perfectly with the print in my pants. My suede booties and denim jacket added some casualness. Although my summer break is now officially over, I will do a Happy Kick for being back to school. It just means I'll be getting dressed like a normal person again and will have more outfits to feature on the blog!

Mix It Up.

My first post in shorts! Thanks to some tanning lotion my legs don't look too scary! It was a beautiful weekend and we hosted my daughter's birthday party at the Botanical Gardens. I needed something cool and casual to wear since we spent most of the day outside. I love mixing patterns and these shorts were the perfect compliment to a black and white stripe. I find that stripes pair well with most prints as long as the colors coordinate. I bought my sandals several years ago but they were the perfect pair to slip on for a day at the gardens! Happy Kicks for a gorgeous weekend!

Representing my home state today in honor of the Men's and Women's basketball teams from UCONN! I'm a huge college basketball fan and I couldn't be prouder that both UCONN teams made it to the NCAA Championship game. The men play tonight and the women play tomorrow night. I will be rooting them on wearing my Home T. Today I paired it with fun printed pants, a blazer, and buckled booties. Casual and easy ~ perfect for a night watching basketball!
