Like A Lady.

I feel pretty, oh so pretty. Have you ever had one of those days where you just felt like everything worked? This outfit did that for me. Mixed prints - check. Booties - check. Statement necklace - check. A bit of leopard - check. Girly headband - check. Honestly, I'm obsessed. I really felt like the closet gods were on my side. And for the record, there are many outfits that never even make the blog. So while I may be talking myself up right now, a day of self-loathing is surely right around the corner. Because yes, I often look at myself and think ~ ugh. Today though, I'll relish in this outfit bliss! Happy Kicks for the good days (and the documentation that they existed)!

Back to School

Back to school and back to the early morning rush! Eek! The best part of the first day of school (besides meeting my students of course) is the first day outfit. I picked up these cute printed pants from J. Crew Factory over the weekend. The cropped length and pattern really caught my eye. A perfect choice for the first day. Of course I had to add a little pizzazz to my ensemble and this statement necklace fit the bill. The colors paired perfectly with the print in my pants. My suede booties and denim jacket added some casualness. Although my summer break is now officially over, I will do a Happy Kick for being back to school. It just means I'll be getting dressed like a normal person again and will have more outfits to feature on the blog!

Great Lengths.

Perhaps the perfect summer piece...the maxi. It's loose, it's flowy, and if you find the right one it will hang just right. This maxi dress is from Old Navy. The short sleeve version is no longer available, but there is a similar tank style. I tied a long cardigan around my waist to deal with the AC and pulled out my favorite turquoise necklace again. My completed look included my big cognac bag from Zara and strappy sandals from American Eagle. Happy Kicks for a summer maxi!

Joggers.

I'm in green again. It's such a fun color especially in a loose, silk jogging pant. I love the side stripe in these pants as it adds a bit of interest to an outfit as well as a sporty vibe. I kept my outfit on the casual side by pairing the pants with a loose white tee. Sandals and a statement necklace gave it a little twist. I've found that the temperatures inside my school building are chilly with the AC running all the time so I've been bringing an extra layer. This chambray shirt was the perfect piece to tie around my waist as I headed out the door.

Jump.

The jumpsuit. It's like a onesie for adults. Totally wearable and totally fab. Just throw one on and accessorize! I like the loose fit of this black one from Target and the fact that it has a drawstring waist. It's always nice to be able to cinch in a bit to give a looser fit garment some shape.  My accessories today consisted of a statement necklace, neon bag, and killer heels.

Bleed Blue.

I had to represent my home state for one more day in this sweet Social Dept. tee. As I write this post, it appears that the UCONN women are going to win the NCAA Championship. I am a very happy Connecticuter this week! The Social Dept. has tees for all states and regions of our country, so if you want to show your pride, you should check out their site (here). I dressed up my tee with a blingy necklace and t-strap pumps. A striped lightweight cardigan was the perfect outer layer to complete my blue look.

Happy Kicks tonight for the University of Connecticut and the amazing athletes that gave it their all in the tournament. Bleed Blue!

Turquoise Beads

So, I tried to go a whole week without wearing stripes, but as you can see that didn't really work out for me. I like stripes. What can I say? Instead of focusing on my stripes today though, I'd like to talk about this amazing necklace. I love everything about it. It's turquoise. It's beaded. It's long. And it pops against my stripes. Plus turquoise is such a spring color. What with my peep toe mules and bare legs you'd think it might actually me warm out! Not warm enough for sundresses, but I'll settle for a knit dress paired with a denim jacket. Spring stripes...I'm sure you'll be seeing more of them soon!

Happy Kicks for tomorrow being Friday and then only one more week until Spring Break!

Green Blazer

I know, I know! The PGA Tour called and they want their blazer back. But I have to say, I just love the color green. Love it! It brings out my eyes, not that you can tell since I'm not looking at the camera in any of my pictures, but I promise they looked especially green today. So I decided a bold blazer should be paired with easy, neutral pieces like a tee and high-waisted pants. Then I jazzed up my outfit with printed heels and a statement necklace. Green at its finest.
