M.I.A.

So it's been awhile. I had to take a brief hiatus from the blog to get my life in order. Things got a bit hectic at home ~ you know that whole working mom thing. The good news, for me anyway, was the vacation to Key West I took with my family a few weeks ago. It was just what I needed. Some time away spent with my amazing husband and two wonderful kids. It was perfect for my mind, body, and spirit. I've included some of my favorite pics from our trip, outfits included of course. New Year's Eve.

My last post of 2014. It's been a great year! My first year of blogging was pretty successful. I certainly learned a few things and have lots to think about as I move into 2015.  I appreciate all of the support from my followers. Expect to see more outfits in the coming year!

Of course my last outfit of the year had to feature a few of my favorites ~ plaid, stripes, and a great pair of shoes!

Polka Dots.

I love a big, bold pattern so these polka dots were an instant must. The flow of the top pairs really well with the size of the dots. I chose a bright pair of corduroys to accent the black and white pattern. Cap-toe flats and a leopard bag finished my patterned look. 

Side note ~ I got my hair cut! Kind of loving a shorter look! Happy Kicks!

Great Lengths.

Perhaps the perfect summer piece...the maxi. It's loose, it's flowy, and if you find the right one it will hang just right. This maxi dress is from Old Navy. The short sleeve version is no longer available, but there is a similar tank style. I tied a long cardigan around my waist to deal with the AC and pulled out my favorite turquoise necklace again. My completed look included my big cognac bag from Zara and strappy sandals from American Eagle. Happy Kicks for a summer maxi!

Blush & Chucks

Flowy and casual in blush and gray today. This gorgeous pale pink color is really having a moment right now. I paired it with similar subtle colors, gray and white. I love the longer length of this cardigan. It's the perfect loose and comfortable layer. Gray chucks and a braid finished my casual look.
