Bold & Bright.

I'm starting my week off in bold, bright colors. It was time to change up my usual blacks and grays. These bright colors have me looking forward to spring although I think we're a little way off from that. So because I went with two bold, complimentary colors, I kept my outfit color blocked. I wanted a seamless flow from the top to the bottom and adding other colors would have been distracting. I kept my accessories a neutral black and added a black and white tweed blazer as a final layer.

Tweed.

Schoolgirl cool. Pretty fitting for a teacher. My version includes this super cute tweed shift dress with faux leather trimmed pockets and a zippered front. Equal parts comfy and chic. I added a pair of cap toe flats and this roomy backpack (from Target, of course) to stay with my schoolgirl vibe. Easy as 2 + 2 = 4.

Polka Dots.

I love a big, bold pattern so these polka dots were an instant must. The flow of the top pairs really well with the size of the dots. I chose a bright pair of corduroys to accent the black and white pattern. Cap-toe flats and a leopard bag finished my patterned look.

Side note ~ I got my hair cut! Kind of loving a shorter look! Happy Kicks!

Stripes + Floral

I spent the majority of my time today meeting with parents at school for our fall conference day. I knew I wanted to be comfortable, but also look put together. Enter my floral pants ~ easy to move in with just the right amount of pizazz. I added a striped tee, in the same color family so the patterns complimented each other, and some comfortable yet cute flats. The latest addition to my wardrobe is this versatile cross-body bag from Old Navy. It's the perfect size if you're looking for a smaller bag that can still fit all of your paraphernalia. My jean jacket was an easy choice as an outer layer since it pulled my two patterns together.

Brights.

Wearing some of my summer favorites in this outfit! Bright colors and lace. The temperatures have been so hot over the past few days that I feel like we've completely skipped over spring. So, in order to stay cool, I went for a summery vibe by pairing two bright colors with a breezy skirt and straw bag. Coral colored earrings and a leopard belt were my fun extras. Of course, I couldn't leave without my denim jacket...I have to deal with the AC inside. I'm looking forward to styling more summer outfits in the near future!

All Dressed in Black

Back in black. Spring Break from school also meant a little break from the blog. This is an outfit from earlier in the week. I love the simplicity of an all black ensemble. I added a little interest with a striped top and bright clutch. If you don't already own a pair of black skinny jeans and a boyfriend blazer, I highly recommend adding them to your wardrobe. They are both such versatile pieces and I find myself mixing and matching them with most everything in my closet.

This week there were multiple Happy Kicks ~ Spring Break! Quality time with my sweet son! And family and friends in town for a special weekend!

Sky Blue.

I was determined to not be cold again today and this fuzzy sweater was the perfect choice. Warm and snug all day long. I may have also been petted a few times by my students but, hey, this sweater is SO soft, and honestly, I wanted to cuddle with myself. Spring is just around the corner and I'm ready to ditch my sweaters and cords for lighter fabrics. But for now I'll stick with warmth in the form of spring colors!
