Adidas Stripes.

I've been sporting these new Adidas kicks a lot lately. Sporty chic, no? Plus I love the combination of black and white. It's simple but looks so cool. I added a pop of color with my pants. These pants are super comfortable and while the green is no longer available, I recommend checking them out in the available colors. I also mixed patterns with my top and bag ~ keeping the patterns in the same color family made them play off of each other nicely! Happy kicks for new kicks!

Fringe.

One of my favorite spring trends is fringe. I've seen it on dresses, skirts, boots, and bags. Fringe is certainly having a moment! I found this fringed bag at Target recently (on sale!) and knew it was the perfect way for me to incorporate the trend. Even better, the bag converts to a backpack! I kept my outfit simple as the weather hasn't been super warm yet. Chambray, black denim, and booties paired well with the ease of the fringe. And of course we have to talk about this hat! Another steal from Target! Love the soft brown and the height. Perfect for these chillier spring days and a perfect compliment to the fringe!

Spring Fever.

Like most everyone in the country right now, I am wishing for Spring! Today, there was a taste as the temperatures reached 65 degrees. I couldn't help but try out these new palazzo pants I got at Target last weekend.  All day my students were complimenting me on my skirt! Surprise! They're pants! I love the pattern and the flowiness of them. Plus the length is perfect for a pair of flat slip on sneakers. I kept the rest of my outfit simple so as to not distract from the busy pattern of the pants. A white tee and my denim jacket were the perfect fit. I'm pretty pleased with my first attempt at a Spring outfit. Now to plan a winter outfit for tomorrow since we are supposed to get a wintry mix in the afternoon. Gotta love Virginia weather!

Keep It Casual.

I've spoken of my love for sneakers before, but I seriously can't get enough of them. I especially like pairing them with an outfit that I would normally wear with heels. It's my little way of keeping things casual for a long day at school. So today, it's a graphic sweatshirt, striped trousers, and a warm fur vest. Keep it casual for an easy look.

Rockin' Moccs.

For my birthday, I finally got the pair of moccasins I've been lusting over for months (thanks to the hubs)! They are the perfect mixture of comfort an style. I'm in love with the fringe and small metal details. I went simple with my outfit ~ black denim, stripes, and chambray tied around my waist. A little 90s nod to go with my fringe. My oversized tweed blazer was once again the perfect outer layer. Happy Kicks for some new rockin' Moccs!

Tweed.

Schoolgirl cool. Pretty fitting for a teacher. My version includes this super cute tweed shift dress with faux leather trimmed pockets and a zippered front. Equal parts comfy and chic. I added a pair of cap toe flats and this roomy backpack (from Target, of course) to stay with my schoolgirl vibe. Easy as 2 + 2 = 4.

Nikes.

I really can't get enough of sneaks lately (as will be evidenced in future posts). The fact that they are now having a moment in fashion is both exciting and relieving. As a teacher, I am on my feet for most of the day and while I love my heels, my feet don't love them after 6 hours. So I am totally embracing the idea of pairing my new Nikes with, well, everything! Today it was a snappy blazer tossed on over a simple tee and jeans. But I'm also looking forward to wearing them with something a bit dressier...so stay tuned!

Happy Kicks for my new Nikes and the era of the sneaker!

All Black.

Some days just call for one color. There's no matching. No coordinating. No thinking. Just pull out your favorite black pieces, layer them up, and voilĂ  ~ effortlessly cool. I did add this amazing plaid scarf for a touch of interest. Zara had a similar scarf last season and regretfully I never bought it so when I found this one at Target recently, I snatched it up right away! I'm pretty sure I'll be wearing it all winter! Happy Kicks for Target lookalikes!
