Leopard. Sparkle. Birthday.

What does a girl need on her birthday? I can't answer for every girl, but for me it's really quite simple. A little bit of leopard, a dash of sparkle, and a whole lot of laughter! I like to dress up on my birthday so I paired this cute midi dress (on the clearance rack at Target!) with my favorite buffalo plaid flannel and my favorite suede booties. Then I threw on a furry leopard coat and grabbed a sequin clutch and voilà ~ birthday bliss!

As for the laughter? Well, there's always plenty of that to go around...especially when all your favorite people call you to give you birthday love! Throw in a sushi dinner, a homemade cake, and my kiddos singing to me and my smile never left my face! Happy Kicks for 36!

Shorts & A Tee

Summertime and the living is easy! I've been visiting family for the past week and a half. My days have been filled with swimming, seaglass hunting, ferry rides, vineyard tours, painting, shopping, more swimming, and of course relaxing. I know, life is tough. I wore this outfit last week to walk around the green and visit the shops in Branford, CT where my mom lives. I knew I wanted to be comfortable so I paired this loose tee with a pair of patterned shorts. I love the palm trees on this pair ~ super beachy and summery! Of course no comfy outfit is complete without a pair of sneaks. My New Balances completely fit the bill. I had to jazz things up a bit with this sequined clutch of course. I like to mix in one piece that you wouldn't normally pair with a casual look. Happy Kicks for vacations and comfy summer outfits! Cheers!

Sparkle and Flow.

The chambray shirt. It goes with everything. You can wear it with a casual outfit or something more dressy. I went dressy today with these great flowy pants. I tied my shirt at the waist to play up my shape and of course popped the collar. The final touch ~ this fab sequin clutch. I saw several versions of this clutch on Pinterest and knew I had to find one. After searching around I found one on an online boutique. I love carrying it with both dressy and casual outfits. A little sparkle never hurts!

May Floral

So lets get a few things out of the way before I actually discuss this outfit.

• I did not realize how wrinkled my shirt was until I saw it in the pictures. Ironing is not really a strength of mine.
• I tried outside pictures today and wasn't aware that there was a nip in the air. I was more concerned about the neighbors thinking I was crazy for posing on my porch.
• It was 7am so I the lighting is not fantastic. I will work on that the next time pictures are taken outside.

Now that I've gotten that off my chest, let's get to the outfit. Wrinkles, nip, and early hour aside, I think this outfit is perfectly springy with an edge. In honor of the first day of May I broke out my floral midi from Old Navy. The bright colors in this skirt really pop when paired with a darker gray. I added some edge with my peep toe heels from Steve Madden. I love the caged detail of these sandals. A denim jacket around my waist and my bucket bag were the final touches for my look.
