Dressing Room.

Confessions of a dressing room junkie. I love to shop ~ shocking, I know! I also love a dressing room. If it has good lighting. And a friend to take pics! So, this past weekend while away with the girls, I found myself in a dressing room with one of my besties. Perfect opportunity to try on some new spring items and take some outfit pics. I'm kind of in love with the outfit I chose for our day of shopping. Belted chic, I suppose. Kind of my nod to OP (but the less expensive version of course). Really, the best part of an outfit is how you feel in it. Well, and if you look good in a dressing room, right?

Happy Kicks to dressing room pics and shopping days with the girls!

Belted Fair Isle.

I'm layered up today to ward off the chill in the air. Cold days call for a thick, warm fair isle sweater. I jazzed mine up with a vest and sequin belt. Cinching in at the waist took some of the bulk out of the sweater and left me with a sleeker look. Black ankle trousers and my desert boots finished off this cozy chic look!

Check.

Pardon my recent absence from the blog. I had a crazy busy week on top of feeling under the weather. Unfortunately my posting suffered, as I spent most of my free time either snuggled on the couch with a hot cup of tea, or sleeping. I think I only photographed one outfit but luckily I have some outfits saved that I'll share this week.

Now, on to this outfit! I'm a huge fan of over the knee boots and am lucky to have this pair from TJ Maxx. I've worn these with a skirt and tights but I also, love the way they look over a pair of skinny jeans. And then there's my buffalo check shirt...it's my fav! Such a versatile piece when the weather gets colder. I've worn it with dressy shorts and heels and of course just thrown on with a pair of jeans. I layered up in this outfit ~ graphic tee, flannel, and vest. Layering adds a level of interest to an outfit. Happy Kicks tonight for feeling almost 100% again and getting back to the blog!

Tulle.

How great is this tulle skirt? Ballerina chic? I kind of feel like Carrie Bradshaw ~ minus the 4 inch heels and glamorous life, of course! I decided to pair this girly skirt with some casual pieces. Enter the chambray shirt and army vest. A bit masculine and perfect partners. A pair of suede booties and some statement earrings were the finishing touches.

Floral & Denim

Summer is slowly fading away, but I'm holding on as long as I can. It's still too hot to transition to my fall wardrobe. So cream colored pants and florals it is! I love a denim vest thrown on top for an extra layer. Plus, how great are these sneaks? Quilted slip-ons at a great price were a must have for me. They're super comfortable and they add some casualness to these dressier pants.

Vest: American Eagle.  Tank: Volcom (similar).  Pants: Alice + Olivia (thrifted).  Sneakers: Target.  Bag: 3.1 Phillip Lim x Target.  Belt: Target.  Watch: Michael Kors.  Earrings: Grace Boutique (on sale for $1).  Bracelet: J. Crew.

Dress or Skirt?

Ok, so technically this "dress" is actually a maxi skirt from Old Navy. It's super cute worn as a skirt but I decided to change it up today. This maxi became a strapless midi dress that had the perfect amount of flow and movement to it. I threw my longer vest over top and am wearing this gorgeous statement necklace again. I'm thinking that this ensemble would have looked cute belted too! So, Happy Kicks today for clothing that can be worn as a completely different piece of clothing!

Vest: Target (in black).  Skirt (worn as dress): Old Navy (old, similar).  Sandals: Vince Camuto.  Necklace: J. Crew Factory.  Clutch: Louis Vuitton.  Watch: Michael Kors.  Bracelets: J. Crew.

Layers & Loafers

A quick post as I end my vacation in Connecticut. It only rained one day during my two week visit (lucky me!), but the sun came out by the afternoon. This outfit worked perfectly for the change in weather. Loose fitting denim (love the patches), a tank, and a vest to keep out the chill from the rain. I also had to wear these loafers since they were such a steal from a local consignment shop! Plus, how cute are the lobsters?!? Pretty fitting for a vacation in New England. Happy Kicks for my Yankee roots...until next year!

Vest: American Eagle (old, similar).  Tank: American Eagle (old, similar).  Denim: American Eagle.  Loafers: The Larkspur Collection (thrifted for $15!).  Bag: Old Navy (old, similar).  Sunglasses: Ray-Ban.  Watch: Michael Kors.  Bracelet: J. Crew.  Earrings: Jewelmint.

Put A Vest Over It.

A layered look today with this sleeveless vest from Target. I love the ease of a romper in the summer. Just pull it on and go! I like this romper because of the subtle pattern and pretty yellow color. This vest is the perfect outer layer for warmer weather ~ white, sleeveless, and loose. To complete my summery vibe I threw on my Birks and grabbed this great oversized straw clutch.

Vest: Target.  Romper: Forever 21 (old, similar here and here).  Clutch: Old Navy (old, similar).  Sandals: Birkenstocks.  Watch: Michael Kors.  Bracelet: Vintage Necklace.  Earrings: Sea glass from Eleuthera, Bahamas.

Pineapple Love.

Pineapples! I'm a longtime lover of this symbolic fruit and love that they are popping up on clothing everywhere. I found this cute tank at Target and paired it with my camo jeans. With a simple print, camouflage acts as a neutral. I added my black vest as an extra layer and some fun sandals to tie in the color of the pineapple. Happy Kicks for pineapple fashion!

Vest: Target.  Tank: Target.  Denim: GAP (old, similar loose style).  Sandals: Target (different color).  Bag: DKNY.  Watch: Michael Kors.  Bracelet: J. Crew.
