New Year's Eve.

My last post of 2014. It's been a great year! My first year of blogging was pretty successful. I certainly learned a few things and have lots to think about as I move into 2015.  I appreciate all of the support from my followers. Expect to see more outfits in the coming year!

Of course my last outfit of the year had to feature a few of my favorites ~ plaid, stripes, and a great pair of shoes!

Happy Kicks for outfits of the day and a love for fashion! Cheers to 2015!

Jeweled.

Casual dressing on a Sunday afternoon. I love the idea of wearing baggy, ripped jeans with something a little girly. Like a jeweled sweatshirt and suede booties. Of course, I then feel as if the outfit should be toughened up a bit. Enter the leather jacket. Equal parts cool and tough. All of the pieces in this outfit are old, but feel new when paired together. Happy Kicks tonight for the upcoming holiday festivities! Keep checking bag for a fun holiday outfit post in the next few days.

Pop of Pink.

Sometimes I like to wear something unexpected with an otherwise simple outfit. Today it was a pair of bright pink heels. The perfect pop of color with navy and caramel. I'm also partial to turtlenecks (in a stripe no less) when the weather gets cold. Worn under a blazer it is the perfect layer. A vintage bag and some tortoise shell jewelry were the finishing touches for this classic, with some pink, look.

Polka Dots.

I love a big, bold pattern so these polka dots were an instant must. The flow of the top pairs really well with the size of the dots. I chose a bright pair of corduroys to accent the black and white pattern. Cap-toe flats and a leopard bag finished my patterned look.

Side note ~ I got my hair cut! Kind of loving a shorter look! Happy Kicks!

All Black.

Some days just call for one color. There's no matching. No coordinating. No thinking. Just pull out your favorite black pieces, layer them up, and voilà ~ effortlessly cool. I did add this amazing plaid scarf for a touch of interest. Zara had a similar scarf last season and regretfully I never bought it so when I found this one at Target recently, I snatched it up right away! I'm pretty sure I'll be wearing it all winter! Happy Kicks for Target lookalikes!

Check.

Pardon my recent absence from the blog. I had a crazy busy week on top of feeling under the weather. Unfortunately my posting suffered, as I spent most of my free time either snuggled on the couch with a hot cup of tea, or sleeping. I think I only photographed one outfit but luckily I have some outfits saved that I'll share this week.

Now, on to this outfit! I'm a huge fan of over the knee boots and am lucky to have this pair from TJ Maxx. I've worn these with a skirt and tights but I also, love the way they look over a pair of skinny jeans. And then there's my buffalo check shirt...it's my fav! Such a versatile piece when the weather gets colder. I've worn it with dressy shorts and heels and of course just thrown on with a pair of jeans. I layered up in this outfit ~ graphic tee, flannel, and vest. Layering adds a level of interest to an outfit. Happy Kicks tonight for feeling almost 100% again and getting back to the blog!

Like A Lady.

I feel pretty, oh so pretty. Have you ever had one of those days where you just felt like everything worked? This outfit did that for me. Mixed prints - check. Booties - check. Statement necklace - check. A bit of leopard - check. Girly headband - check. Honestly, I'm obsessed. I really felt like the closet gods were on my side. And for the record, there are many outfits that never even make the blog. So while I may be talking myself up right now, a day of self-loathing is surely right around the corner. Because yes, I often look at myself and think ~ ugh. Today though, I'll relish in this outfit bliss! Happy Kicks for the good days (and the documentation that they existed)!

Wednesday Sneakers.

Some days just call for sneakers. Today was one of those days. I knew I needed to be comfortable and able to move about quickly. So even if my outfit says heels, my feet say sneakers. Pairing contrasting pieces, like silk dress pants and sneakers, can actually work really well. Opposites attract, right? Happy Kicks for comfort in style!

Tulle.

How great is this tulle skirt? Ballerina chic? I kind of feel like Carrie Bradshaw ~ minus the 4 inch heels and glamorous life, of course! I decided to pair this girly skirt with some casual pieces. Enter the chambray shirt and army vest. A bit masculine and perfect partners. A pair of suede booties and some statement earrings were the finishing touches.
