It's a Plaid, Plaid World.

Early morning pictures before work...

Always a little rushed, always a little tired, and on some mornings (like the one on which these pics were taken) an important step left out of the routine. In this case, no mascara. Hello tired eyes!

Regardless of my somewhat unfinished face, I really love this outfit. For me, nothing says fall like a dose of plaid. I remixed a white summer dress by layering it with plaid and denim. A pop of leopard on my feet added a fun element to my outfit.

Mix It Up.

Things I love about fall:

Cool weather, changing leaves, pumpkin everything, soccer games, apple butter, fire pits, snuggling, sweaters, boots. I felt very fallish in this outfit which centered around this gorgeous skirt from Target. It's the perfect fall color ~ ochre, a deep brownish yellow. Of course I mixed my prints playing off the deep blue in the skirt. I added some of my fall favorites to compliment the skirt and top ~ a warm sweater and comfy booties. I'm looking forward to more fall outfits featuring warm colors, sweaters, and boots!

Fall.

A gorgeous fall day calls for some of my fall staples ~ flannel and moccasins. There was finally a chill in the air today so I doubled up on my buffalo plaid and pulled out these amazing Minnetonka boots. Both my shirt and jacket were recent Target purchases and I couldn't be happier with them. I'll be wearing the jacket a ton this fall. It even has a hood for chillier days! Vintage Levis were the perfect bottom to add to the casual feel of my outfit. Happy Kicks for fall flannel and boots!

Stripes + Floral

I spent the majority of my time today meeting with parents at school for our fall conference day. I knew I wanted to be comfortable, but also look put together. Enter my floral pants ~ easy to move in with just the right amount of pizazz. I added a striped tee, in the same color family so the patterns complimented each other, and some comfortable yet cute flats. The latest addition to my wardrobe is this versatile cross-body bag from Old Navy. It's the perfect size if you're looking for a smaller bag that can still fit all of your paraphernalia. My jean jacket was an easy choice as an outer layer since it pulled my two patterns together.

Tie Dye

Tie-dye. My favorite print in high school, especially paired with a pair of overalls. While there are some aspects of the 90s I'd like to forget, I'm excited to see some of the fashions return in a more updated way. Overalls, Birkenstocks, and some tie-dye. I love that this dress was done in a simple black and white tie-dye. Not as bright as my t-shirts of old and in a comfortable high-low cut. Paired with a pair of wedge sneakers and a chambray shirt I went for an easy, sporty look to keep the focus on my dress. Happy Kicks for fashion comebacks!!

Floral Flow.

A quick post tonight to show a look from last week. I decided to wear this dress as an outer layer over an all black ensemble. I like the pairing of a pretty floral with edgier black pieces. Plus, this dress looked super cool when I walked because of the flowiness. Happy Kicks for floral with an edge!

Pretty Plaid.

My obsession with plaid continues! This time I found the perfect comfy plaid sweatshirt at Target. I love the bigger plaid pattern and of course you can't beat the prices at Target. Sometimes it's fun to pair a casual piece with something a little dressy. I paired my sweatshirt with a dressier skirt and my chucks for a casual, cool look. Perfect for a warm fall day!
