Drapey Pants

Drapey pants. In one word, they are amazing. But if I had more than one word, I would also say comfortable, wearable, on trend, and chic. I grabbed this pair from Target in the clearance section and instantly fell in love with the pattern. A subtle mix of color and graphics. Today I paired my drapey pants with an open weave sweater from Old Navy. Underneath my denim jacket, it is the perfect spring layer on a cooler, sunny days. A pair of nude pumps and some bangles finished off the look.

Last night my husband and I attended a Charity Art Auction and Casino Night hosted by For Kids. The organization provides multiple resources and services for homeless children in our area. It was such a fun evening and I finally had the opportunity to wear this amazing jumpsuit by Anya Ayoung Chee. She was the winner of Project Runway several seasons ago and this jumpsuit was one of her winning looks that was sold on Piperlime. I love all of Anya's designs because of the ease and beauty of them. This jumpsuit is no exception. It is so comfortable and flows beautifully when I walk.

Ladylike

Think Spring! Although I'm wearing tights, I'm hoping the rest of my outfit evokes spring flowers. I mixed my patterns again, but keep everything in the same color family. This bright chartreuse is one of my favorite colors right now. It makes me feel so happy. Should we talk about this midi skirt? Floral, flowy, and high-waisted. A perfect combination. I love that early spring allows for lots of layers. The chill this morning made me reach for my warm fur vest, but by the end of the day I didn't need it. Hopefully, I'll be able to leave that extra layer at home in the near future! Happy Kicks!

Leopard & Stripes

I'm a sucker for stripes. Second day in a row wearing them and don't be surprised if they show up again tomorrow. Stripes are the perfect pattern to mix with other patterns. They are subtle and pair well with bolder patterns like leopards and florals. I kept my patterns in neutral colors and added a pop of color with my clutch. A leather jacket and moto booties completed my mixed print look.

Stripes.

Although it is officially spring, the temps say otherwise. So today I threw on a cozy sweater in spring stripes to ward off the chill. Sky Blue.

I was determined to not be cold again today and this fuzzy sweater was the perfect choice. Warm and snug all day long. I may have also been petted a few times by my students but, hey, this sweater is SO soft, and honestly, I wanted to cuddle with myself. Spring is just around the corner and I'm ready to ditch my sweaters and cords for lighter fabrics. But for now I'll stick with warmth in the form of spring colors!

A Blazer & Sneaks

I love a good blazer. I love a cute pair of sneakers. Put the two together and you'll see a happy kick from this girl. I'm layered up today because it's so cold here.  Layering is a really easy way to bring some variety to your outfit. Just make sure to choose complimentary colors so that the pieces in your outfit aren't competing.

Maxified.

The maxi skirt. One of my favorite pieces to dress up or down. Today I went for a comfy, casual look by pairing my maxi with a sweatshirt. I added some pizzazz with a statement necklace. My leather jacket is on repeat lately. I find that it is the perfect final layer over almost very outfit I wear. Plus I feel pretty cool in it!

Side note ~ I'm overly tired this week and it is definitely showing in my pics. I apologize for my bags and lackluster expressions. Taking pictures at 7am can sometimes be a little rough! Perhaps more sleep is in the near future though. Tomorrow is Friday! Happy Kicks!

Tuxedo.

Casual tuxedo dressing today. I used black and white as the base of my outfit and then added color with my pants and bag. I love the look of a tuxedo blazer and a tuxedo stripe on a pair of pants, so I figured why not put them together. I love the versatility of a black and white blazer. It can be thrown on with a pair of jeans or worn over an LBD. Today I wore mine as an extra layer over a simple tee. I know I've said this before, but the tees in the men's department at Target are amazing. They are super comfy and somewhat oversized. Just for reference, I am wearing a men's small.

Daylight savings time! Whew! While I love that it stays lighter longer, my family sure did struggle getting out the door this morning! My three year old fell asleep in the car on the way to school and my six year old was in tears when I kissed her goodbye. Needless to say, my outfit was not documented. So here is a look from the weekend instead, when things were a little calmer and the morning rush was not upon us.

Ripped denim. I love it. I want more of it in my life. It's easy to pair with a simple tee and a pair of booties for a casual chic look. An outfit made of three pieces. Weekend dressing doesn't get much easier!
